Megan + Blake | Carnton Plantation Wedding | Franklin, TN
I've been waiting so long to share this wedding, but today's finally the day! :)
I was so honored to photography Megan & Blake's wedding day in Franklin, Tennessee last month! Megan was one of my good college friends and roommates at Ohio State, so being able to be there on her wedding day was such a joy.
Megan & Blake were married at Carnton Plantation, a historic plantation and garden south of Nashville. You know my inner history nerd was geeking out, and the grounds were absolutely GORGEOUS - I don't think I stopped swooning all day. The two shared a first look under the grape vine covered pergola that wrapped around the garden area, and it was so sweet. Blake turned around and hugged her right away, and the two exchanged sweet, personalized gifts with one another. Blake gifted Megan with a new Bible embossed with her new name, and Megan gave Blake a watch with a note engraved on the back. All the sweetness.
After strolling the grounds for portraits, we tucked Megan & Blake away as guests arrived for their ceremony. The ceremony took place under a gorgeous, hundred year old oak tree as the sun was setting. It was such a gorgeous place to exchange vows and share their first kiss as husband and wife! After the ceremony, we snuck away for a few more sunset photos while guests enjoyed their cocktail hour, and then let the bride & groom be introduced into their reception! The reception took place on a tented patio overlooking the plantation manor, with gorgeous magnolia centerpieces (cut from the groom's family's yard!), and the two shared their first dance under the stars and cafe lights. Swoon.
Megan & Blake, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day! Everything was perfect and it was such an honor to watch you become husband and wife! :)
